So what have you been up to? I'm still just plugging along in my little world. Today, I watched a couple tv shows, nothing to interesting, and made a few wedding cards. Cross that off my list!
Saturday, we had a competition in Spokane. I had to pick up the cupcakes for our kissing bandit fundraiser so I went early enough to do that and run another errand then head over to the school. I made it there in good time, and the picking up of the cupcakes was pretty smooth, although, I didn't think that everyone in the store was going to have to comment on the fact that I had 20 BOXES of cupcakes. Yes, people. I have 20 BOXES of cupcakes. I promise, I'm not eating them all by myself. I might invite a friend or two... sheesh.
Anyway.
The picking up was so easy that I had lots of time left for the odious task of looking through toy stores for Monster High dolls. Has anyone heard of Monster High? I'm telling you, marketers are getting smarter and smarter. If I know this right, Monster High is a cartoon on the internet, that hasn't even hit the tv yet. And somehow, Tess started watching it, and now they have all the characters in barbie type dolls. But not only are there all the characters, there's all the characters in different clothes to buy, and with different accessories. So if you want Draculaura in a swimsuit, you have to buy both the doll with the swimsuit on, not just the swimsuit. How's that for slick marketing? Consequently, we have been looking all over for a certain doll because stupidly, I told her if she was good at the reception (read that to mean if she didn't bug me too much) I would get her a new Monster High doll. Six weeks later, we are still getting reminded everyday about that stinking doll. I went to about five stores before I finally decided to call it quits and get over to the high school. As I got close, I realized there was a Walmart close by so I decided to run in and look one more place, not expecting anything out of it.
People. They had the doll. Not only did they have choice #1, but they also had choice #2!! Hallelujah!! So I bought them both.
And I was a hero.
I love those kinds of days.

WOW! Glad to hear the good news of finding the Monster High dolls. You are a heroine to many people. Thanks for your willingness to take Ruth today for me. Congrats to all the girls on all those first places! WOW! Tamara
