I know this post is a long time coming, (and really long) but I really wanted to wait until I got pictures from the fabulous Julie Waites Photography, because, ahem, did you see the pictures that Terry took for me. Yikes! I know the guy did his best, but really, there was just so much more to see than what was in those pictures. So here we go....
This is, by far, my most favorite picture. And you can't even tell that it is raining and blowing like no other here! Miracle worker!!
It was great to have so many friends and family there, but really great to have my folks there, since it is so hard on my mom to travel. Lillavies together!
I'm so grateful that Lilly got to have her inheritance from my mother already. It is her wedding ring, which was given to my mother by my grandmother. It is beautiful, and will last her throughout her life. I know she cherishes it, just as my mother did, and my grandmother. Lilly is a sentimental gal, just like her mama.
Lilly's wedding gown was fairly simple, but was totally her. There was light beading around the neckline and over the shoulders, just enough to have a little bling. It fit her perfectly. I loved it.
And Breck looked pretty snazzy too!! The suit fit perfectly!! ;) They make a great looking couple, don't they?
Lilly didn't want any flowers at the wedding, and so, we had a bouquet made of flower brooches. Thanks to my sister, Ann, and her daughter, Sunny, we came up with more than enough brooches to make the bouquet beautiful and full. It was really fun, but oh my!! So heavy!!
This picture gives you a little perspective on the overall look of the cultural hall. I had the boys and Terry out first thing in the morning putting up five strips of butcher paper across the ceiling, with twinkle lights on either side of each strip. It took all I had to try to get them to understand my vision, and finally I had to call in backup, Christina, to help me get it across from them. I just wanted to yell at them, just do what I tell you!! I know what I'm talking about!! The wedding was causing marital strife! The irony!!
My sister-in-law made these fabulous fabric pompom balls!! Aren't they fantastic?! They took her about two weeks, but they were the focal point of the ceiling, the chandelier if you will, and they were really stunning. Love them!!
Remember that great picture I had of the dessert table, before there were desserts on it? Well, here is the great after picture, with all the great desserts we had. Again, Ann and Sunny came to the rescue and made the mini cheesecakes, and the mini doughnuts. Don't they look so yummy! And beautiful!
I have a feeling that Tessa spent a lot of time at the dessert bar. But doesn't she look adorable? I love this girl!
Just a really great picture of our Cake Batter Truffles. Yea for Megan and Zoey!! They did a great job! And yea for my friend Tamara, who made a bunch of these cakestands with candle sticks and glass plates. Isn't that adorable? Isn't everything adorable? ;) I'm getting on my own nerves.
We also had a hot chocolate bar, with all sorts of goodies to add to your hot chocolate. I think we had 13 different things to add in.
This was our basic look. (Terry's picture. Can you tell? Yikes!)
And if you think we only had treats, no! We had some really delicious real food as well. Pulled pork, lil smokies, roasted potatoes, and relish trays. It was some good food! Thanks to Lloyd from Ephrata's TimeOut Pizza for this great food!!
Lilly's new mother in law makes beautiful cakes and tasty too! I love the look of this cake but my favorite part was this:
Gum paste lilies on the top of the cake. How cute is that?
We had five frames, each with wire strung across to hang pictures on. Lilly had chose some of her engagement pictures, but also lots of pictures were just from their courtship. We hung them all on one wall, kind of like an art gallery. It was simple, but it gave the people something to do while they were waiting in line for food.
We used large glass jars or vases filled with different textured balls, with a frame that had a quote about love. This quote happened to be from a very good friend of ours, THE Spencer Pingel. Instead of a guest book, we had everyone take a card to write their best wedding advice to Lilly and Breck, or just their name. That's what the small dishes were for. We had people sit down and fill out their cards. That way they had some time to think about it.
Another view....
This was our foyer table, with the beautiful Megan manning the station. We had a sign explaining the way it was, but I still found myself standing just inside the door telling people, just sit down, they come around and talk to you! Go get some food, and they'll find you.
I made about 300 of these little packets, which were just cardstock sewn into a pocket with a sticker added that said what it was, with Lilly and Breck's names. Then, we made hot chocolate; really GOOD hot chocolate, and put it into small plastic envelopes and stuffed all the packets. I had Zoey pushing those packets like nobody's business. I think she told me that she gave someone 15 of them. That's okay. I didn't want to go home with any, and I only went home with about 30 or so. That's not too bad!
We used a large cookie jar, minus lid, for the wedding cards. It caused a little confusion with the guest book cards, but eventually people started to see the flow.
In all, I really loved the wedding and the reception. I did learn a few things, and if anyone else in my family ever gets married, I think I'll do a some things differently. But in all, it turned out great, and the best part was how happy Breck and Lilly were to be married.
And that's all that matters.

Incredible. What nice details and touches you added. Lilly and Breck are a handsome/darling couple.

Awesome stuff there. My friend Leslie said she thought it was one of the best receptions they had ever been too. She emailed me that a while back - meant to mention it to you sooner. :) Good job.
