Today is the day. I've watched the various kids on their way to the high school; then to the middle school; and lastly to the elementary school. Our house is right on the way to all of these schools, so we watched the parade of students as they passed, with their new "cool" backpacks, and super-cute clothes. It was exciting.
Maybe call me a bad mom, but I just want all children in my house gone on the first day of school. After a summer of everyone being here, and up all nights, and all that stuff, I just want a little bit of peace and quiet. Seriously.
But instead, I've got three yaw-hoo's still at my house; Lilly, Megan and Zoey. All here. All noisy.
I'm getting old, people. I'm getting old.
Tessa decided to be fancy this year. She's so adorable.
The walk-to-school crew; the Welty boys and Tessa!
Found some friends first thing! That made life a little better!
Tessa and her teacher, Mrs. Gentry. We are excited to have the new teacher! Sometimes, the new teachers are the most fun because they are *still* excited, and not jaded about things yet. Mrs. Gentry told us she had raised her family and then decided to go back to school, and here she is! I think that is the best because she's had some experience with discipling kids, and have kids go through the system, and so on. I'm actually pretty excited for this year!
Hopefully Tess will survive not having her two favorite friends in her class....
It's gonna be great!
