It's no secret, our family loves Seattle. We love going to the regular places (Pikes Market) and we love finding new places to explore (literally love Pioneer Square).
We took a little day trip to Seattle, you know, where T-Rae found out that she was going to see T-Swizzle. We first had a great day, just exploring some sights of Seattle.
First, we stopped in at some little town just outside of Issaquah because someone (ahem, Lilly) has a baby bladder and can't go more than two hours in the car without having to stop. We had taken two cars because we are officially too big for the van. Both sad and happy about that. The gas station we stopped at had this great little chapel, so of course, we had to take a picture. Fun family.
Terry also found out that the gas station across the street from this one, has a Popeye's Chicken in it. I foresee many a stops at this town in our future. Terry LOVES Popeye's Chicken.
First stop, Pike's Market! People, you have no idea how much I love the sights, sounds, and smells of this place. I could wander around for hours! When Terry and I had our Grand Seattle Adventure, we wandered Pike's Market for a good two+ hours. It was just really fun.
Okay, I will say though that the fish smell is NOT my favorite smell. I tolerate it because I do love the flying fish. Although, we don't spend much time there because there are ALWAYS a bazillion people standing in front of the stand. Ugh.
Aren't we just too cute? This was after about 12 attempts of me trying not to get a selfie that was either my double chin, or up my nose. I just can't keep my head looking straight ahead. Terry, good man that he is, just sat there and smiled. I don't think he moved one iota the whole time I was moving my head to get a good shot.
Rejected shot. See.... up my nose. *sigh*
One of the things we love the most, is to explore the shops downstairs. Not many people down there, and they have some of the greatest kitsch you have ever seen. It's honestly one of my favorite places to explore.
I also love the side merchants that come to sell their wares. This guy had on a huge balloon hat and was selling balloon items for $10. Nope. I'm not buying a balloon hat for $10 that's going to be dead in two days. I just can't go that far.
This time, we went and really looked at the gum wall. Which grossed me out a bunch. This picture makes my tummy queasy. Seriously.
Others were fascinated by it and wanted to touch it. (Tessa, not Zoey) Ewwww.
I was glad when we moved on, got our flower bouquets, and went on to the next stop.
One of the greatest things that has ever happened to us, was that The Fisks and Aunt Sandy bought us a family membership to the Pacific Science Center. It is for 6 family members and we can take 6 guests with us. It gets us into all exhibits for free, including the documentary IMAX movies, and we get discounted tickets to the regular movies that are at the IMAX. We have to date seen four different laser shows to the music of Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Justin Bieber, and I can't remember who else. Honestly, that is the time when Terry and I usually take a nap. It's awesome, because it is completely dark. It works for us. Don't judge.
We do love to go through the butterfly house and finally! I got a butterfly to land on me! I was so excited! But not too excited, because I didn't want to disturb it and make it fly away. Tess was just a little jealous.
It was lunch time in the butterfly house. There were lots of butterflies enjoying the sweet offerings. I'm always so fascinated. And just because I can...
Isn't he just the cutest? I think so... ;)
We had a great time exploring Seattle again. Matt hadn't been there for a really long time, Lilly hadn't been to the Science Center before, and I always love to be there. Love family time!
